Iguana's Terrifying Gaze!

The iguana – the heart of Latgales Zoo

The green iguana is a large, tree-loving lizard that is primarily herbivorous. Adults typically reach 1.5 meters in length, with the tail making up a large portion of the total length and being very strong – the iguana uses it for defense. Behaviorally, iguanas are diurnal – active during the day. Breeding occurs once a year: females lay 20 to 71 eggs in burrows, where they incubate for 10–15 weeks. Parents do not guard the hatchlings after laying. Come visit and see the Iguana in person – it will be an exciting adventure!
